Getting started. Install Color Tabs from the Chrome Web Store, then pin it: click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome's toolbar and press the pin next to Color Tabs. Open any website, click the color-wheel icon and pick a color - that's it. The site now carries its color on the tab and on its bookmarks.
Three ways to color a site. The popup offers Chrome's 9 tab colors and three display styles: Icon ring - a colored ring around the favicon, zero extra space. Tab rim - the tab gets Chrome's group-style rim with a small colored dot. Site group - all the site's tabs collected in a named colored group.
The Color Bar. Turn on Color bar in the popup to replace Chrome's bookmarks strip with ours - same design, real favicons, plus your colors as a ring on each icon and painted folder icons. Hide Chrome's own bar with Cmd+Shift+B (Ctrl+Shift+B on Windows).
Bookmarks manager. Click the color-wheel chip at the start of the bar (or press Cmd+Alt+B) to open the manager. Search, rename and delete; click a bookmark's favicon ring to color its whole site; click a folder's icon to color the folder. Drag rows to reorder.
Categories & folder colors (Pro). In Settings, give names to colors - work, family, money - and they appear as labeled chips in every picker. Folder colors use the same 9 Chrome colors so everything always matches.
Getting started. Install AI Chat Organizer from the Chrome Web Store and open ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. A floating panel appears on the page with your chats, folders, search and prompts. The same library follows you across all three AIs.

Panel and privacy. Light or dark theme, left or right side, closes with a click or Escape, full right-to-left support. Everything is stored in your browser: no account, no analytics. We never see your chats.
Automatic backups. Every few minutes Tab Rescue silently snapshots all your open windows and tabs. The free tier keeps the newest 20 snapshots; nothing to configure.
Restore a session. Open the timeline and bring everything back exactly as it was - tab groups with their names, colors and order, pinned tabs included. Restore fully or one window at a time. Restoring opens new windows and never touches the tabs you have open.

Color Tabs: the popup doesn't open. Press Cmd+Shift+9 (Ctrl+Shift+9) or right-click the Color Tabs icon and choose Open Color Tabs panel. Updating Chrome (chrome://settings/help) also helps. The Color Bar can't run on chrome:// pages or the Chrome Web Store - that's a Chrome rule for all extensions.
AI Chat Organizer: the panel disappeared. The AI sites change their design often. When that breaks something, our fix usually reaches you within hours automatically - no update needed. If the panel is still missing after a day, update the extension at chrome://extensions.
Tab Rescue: restoring looks like duplicates. Restore always opens new windows and never touches what you have open - close the old windows you no longer need.
